Have we got a job for you!
The following are some of the positions
that need your talents, dedication, and creativity. Take a look and
consider whether you can help or are ready to take on a new challenge.
Product Review Coordinator - We need one or more people to solicit vendors for
products, acquire member-requested products for review, get products to
meetings, encourage people to review products, track products and reviewers,
follow up with reviewers for timely reviews, edit reviews, send product reviews
to the Bits & Bytes Online Editor for inclusion in the newsletter
Member
Discounts Coordinator - One of the benefits of being a TBCS member is taking
advantage of various discounts. If you think you can research and solicit
discounts for members, and ensure that discounts continue from year-to-year,
please step up to this very important function.
Writer, Reporter,
and/or Photographer - Bits & Bytes Online is
published the beginning of each month, and we need people who can find and/or
write features, get permission to republish them,
report on meetings and other TBCS events and programs, as well as other events
that might interest or benefit members, take digital pictures at these events,
etc.—and to hopefully meet the publishing deadline.
SIG Leaders*
Internet SIG Leader -
This SIG
currently meets on the 2nd Monday of each month, from 1-to-3 p.m., at the
Resource Center (although you can change the day and time). It is for those who
are new to using the Internet or just want to learn more about it.
Internet Development SIG Leader -
This SIG meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from 7-to-9 p.m., at the Resource
Center. It focuses on Website design, and encourages group members to share
their Web design efforts, as well as bring their questions. The SIG members
aren't experts. They just have an interest in Web design and in learning more.
This long-established SIG is informally known as the "O'Keefe's SIG" because we
retire to O'Keefe's afterwards for conversation and adult libations.
* A SIG leader does not
have to be an expert in the interest group's subject. It's more important that
you can organize and lead the group, and facilitate discussions. It's also
possible to share leadership of a SIG with another SIG member, or two.
Instructors - TBCS is always
looking for new instructors and classes that will interest and help members. Do
you have a skill or experience that you can share? If you're interested in becoming
an instructor or you want to propose a new curriculum, please e-mail
Chuck Vroman.
If you are interested in filling one of these positions,
or if you would consider sharing the position with someone else, write
Dave Dockery today.
Please enter the position
or function you are considering in the Subject line.
So, come one, come all....
