Dale Atchison Resigns as TBCS Secretary

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Dale resigned from his position as the TBCS Secretary this past week.  We owe owe him a big "Thank You" for all he has done for the club over the time that he's been in office.

Dale has donated generously of his time and resources to our club.  He's been instrumental in helping to increase our membership, and he's fixed an awful lot of TBCS member's computers.  If you would like to thank him personally, his email address is:

May 3, 2003 - Dale's letter of resignation:

Y'all:

I find that I no longer have the time to devote to being the full-time Secretary for TBCS. This email is my resignation letter.

I will continue handling the club email, membership database, and card printing until such time as the Board asks me to stop doing so. I can do this in two to four evenings a month, one or two hours each evening. I have changed the voice mail announcement to say, "Please email your question, and we'll get back to you."

I should be finished dragging all my stuff out of the office this weekend. I'll hand Ron (Kalmin) his Parts keys, but I guess I'll need direction from the Board over whether and when to hand off the office and Resource Center keys - I will still need access about once a week, and usually when there's no one else there.

I will remain on the Board, in the club, and on the Members Helping Members list. I want to stay involved, and help the club continue to grow (we just passed 700 for the first time since before I joined!) - I just don't have the kind of time I've been putting in for the past 28 months.

Thanks for everything,

DaLe aTchiSon, ex-secretary, TBCS

May 3, 2003 - TBCS President, Jim Boynton, responds:

Although I just received the official resignation letter from Dale Atchison, I had a few days verbal notice last week. Some plans have already been made to keep the office functioning until the BOD meeting on the 14th.

Dale will maintain the e-mail and the membership list. Ron and Frank will answer the phones and handle the mail. Millie will be doing the deposits and writing all of the checks to pay bills. We will work out the best way to get the checks and bills to her.

I will probably make the day-to-day small purchases needed to keep the office going and submit receipts to Millie.

The classes will function on their own under the leadership of Chuck Vroman.

Unless I have missed something, I think that should get us to the BOD meeting. If there are any problems that might arise, please contact me at jboynton@tampabay.rr.com and we will work something out.

We will miss having Dale as our secretary, but we do realize that one person cannot do it all, so the job will be spread out, and TBCS will go on.
