Mission

Tampa Bay Technology Center is a registered nonprofit organization. Its mission is to provide technology education and training to our community. While we are located in Clearwater, FL, and provide in-person training and services, we also offer online classes and meetings.

TBTC provides two types of education. User Groups and Classroom Training. User Groups are less structured, and topics vary from meeting to meeting. Classroom training is a specific number of days or hours with a structured curriculum.

TBTC offers education on a variety of topics, with over 30 User Group meetings per month and various scheduled classes. Topics support different groups of people of varying age, interest, and level of expertise:

  • People seeking new job opportunities who need training in office technology such as Windows, Microsoft Office or Software Development.
  • Business owners needing education in WordPress, Podcasting, Online Businesses, and Marketing.
  • Anyone seeking knowledge. Other groups and classes include Chromebooks, US History, Stock trading, Cut the cable, Inventors, and discussion groups.

As a service to members, TBTC also offers each member free computer repair once a year. Repairs range from hardware changes to virus removal to software installations.

Twice each year TBTC holds a Random Acts of Kindness day. It is open to the public and includes a range of speakers along with lunch. The volunteers in the Computer Clinic repair computers of non-members on this day too.
